Community Relations
The Community Relations Committee gives APEX members an opportunity to be active within their community, to give back and contribute to their fellow peers and those less fortunate. APEX is dedicated to developing strong, positive role models in the Asian Pacific American community.
 
Corporate Relations

The Corporate Relations Committee works to maintain strong and healthy relationships between APEX and its corporate sponsors, keeping them informed about upcoming events and activities. These sponsors want to get involved and help APEX maintain its reputation as an organization that not only serves the community, but also develops the next generation of Asian Pacific American professionals. Members of the Corporate Relations committee will have many valuable opportunities to interact with well-known companies in various fields and to speak personally with high-level executives.

 
Finance & Development

The Finance & Development Committee chairs and committee members will have the opportunity to work with and see the entire operations of APEX. The following is a breakdown of each area and its respective role: Financial Reporting will be responsible for maintaining our General Ledger and generating any relevant financial reports. Finance – will be responsible for working with committee chairs on their respective budget/forecasting preparation and issuance. Development – will be responsible for fostering & securing corporate contributions/sponsorships. Tax - will be responsible for the compliance filings with the IRS and any federal, state and local government agencies. In addition, address and respond to all tax related inquiries from members, organizations and corporations as it relates to contributions recognized by APEX.

 
Information Systems

Are you passionate about technology and information systems and its application in today's business world and organizations? APEX needs technically saavy students and professionals that are motivated and ready to make a difference in one of Southern California's premiere professional organizations. The goals of this committee is to not only provide relevant experience in technical implementation of systems within a sizable organization, but at the same time to expand the professional network of like minded individuals.

 
Membership

The Membership Committee develops and coordinates strategies to effectively recruit and retain APEX members, using programming that provides opportunities for APEX members to interact with each other, network among professional and community leaders, and potentially form collaborative working relationships. This committee is responsible for organizing the professional networking mixers as well as helping to identify and place potential committee members.

 
Mentorship

The APEX Mentoring Program (AMP) focuses on career guidance, personal development and networking for college/graduate students and young/senior professionals in the Asian Pacific American community. As part of the AMP committee, members will have the opportunity to work with other APEX teams on event planning, professional networking, as well as maintaining and developing university/corporate relations. We are looking for team players to fill roles such as University Liaisons, Marketing Specialists, Event Planner and Networking Team Leaders. This will be a unique and rewarding experience for individuals who want to make a difference.

 
Professional Development

A cornerstone in APEX programming, this committee is responsible for developing and advancing the professional skills of its members. The signature event for this committee is the annual APEX Asian American Career Day. We are looking for people enthusiastic about meeting top industry executives and seeking to make a difference in the professional community.

 
Special Events

The Special Events committee works to create and plan high profile events for APEX. The signature event for this committee is the APEX Awards Banquet (Fall). This committee takes advantage of any special events planning skills that volunteers may have, as well as helping to sharpen the community consciousness and image of APEX.

 
Strategic Marketing

The Strategic Marketing Committee has the unique challenge of positioning the APEX name in the community and promoting APEX special events through media and community relations. Members of this committee are responsible for press releases, press kit design and content, production of the APEX newsletter and all aspects of marketing, advertising, and public relations. This committee is ideal for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals interested in working with media, communications, special events, marketing, public relations, and/or advertising.

 
University Relations

The University Relations committee works on bridging the gap between working professionals and students. The purpose of this group is to provide university students with an opportunity to interact with and learn from professionals from various fields. We are looking for people who want to nurture future generations of working professionals.

 
Youth Outreach

The Youth Outreach committee works with at-risk Asian Pacific Islander youth in Southern California to help inspire and motivate today's youth to excel in education, community and personal growth! The Youth Outreach committee’s marquee event is to organize the APEX-SNAPY Youth Olympics to promote interaction among membership. This event draws in more than 200 kids and adults for a day of fun filled games and prizes. The Service Network for Asian and Pacific Islander Youth (SNAPY) serves as the umbrella agency for 14 different youth agencies, most of which are affiliated with the United Way.
